You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?
I'm trying a new blog. I'm using the above phrase to help me avoid getting overwhelmed before I even get started. Here's my first post, including lots of lists.
This week will be a good one. My goals:
a) sense panic attacks coming ("chain" thinking and breathe through them before they start
b) think before I speak and avoid silly arguments with my boyfriend
c) anticipate difficulty and prepare to smile through it to avoid having a negative attitude at work
d) don't stay up too late
That's several things all at once, and might be too much for one week if I tried to think of improving my major life issues all at once. However, I'm going to approach these goals by:
a) being mindful of them (reviewing them a few times a day)
b) provide myself with plenty of positive self-talk whether good things or bad things are happening
c) take breaks to eat, drink water, stretch, or walk around
It's going to be a good week. Let's do some of that positive self-talk:
a) I will make a lot of progress on the current major project at work
b) I will do some yoga or walking at least 4 out of 7 days - maybe some running
c) I will write about my feelings and my days to help myself process without panicking or worrying
Tomorrow is soon and I need to hunker down into the fluffy bed.
